Cornell Book Club – February 7, 2017

The next Cornell Club Book Club meeting will be February 7, 2017 (1st Tuesday) at the home of Eli Kaufman in Buffalo. Eli has selected Manhood for Amateurs: the pleasures and regrets of a  husband, father, and son

Cornell Book Club – Tuesday, January 10

The next Cornell Club Book Club meeting will be January 10, 2017, at the home of Rick Greenberg in Buffalo. Rick has selected a novella by Stephen KingThe Body. This selection can be found in the book Different Seasons. The audio version is available under the title “The Body”.  
The story takes place during the summer of 1960 in the fictional town of Castle Rock, Maine. After a boy from Chamberlain, Maine named Ray Brower disappears and is presumed dead, Gordie Lachance and his three friends, Chris Chambers, Teddy Duchamp, and Vern Tessio set out to find his body after telling their parents they will be camping out. During the course of their journey, the boys, who all come from abusive or dysfunctional families, come to grips with some of the harsh truths of growing up in a small factory town that does not seem to offer them much in the way of a future.” (from Wikipedia)
