The November 19 Book Club meeting will be hosted by Kricky (Szczepaniec) Ksiazek. Kricky has chosen the nonfiction book, When breath becomes air by Paul Kalanithi.
“When Breath Becomes Air chronicles Kalanithi’s transformation from a naïve medical student “possessed,” as he wrote, “by the question of what, given that all organisms die, makes a virtuous and meaningful life” into a neurosurgeon at Stanford working in the brain, the most critical place for human identity, and finally into a patient and new father confronting his own mortality.” from Amazon.
There are many copies of the book in the library, in different forms.
This book was a NYT #1 Best seller, and named one of the Best Books of 2016 by numerous well known publications.
For those who have less time to read, it is only 228 pages.
