Silent Auction to benefit the Scholarship Fund

The Cornell Club of Greater Buffalo is pleased to announce a silent auction to support the undergraduate scholarship. Established in 1975, the scholarship is open to undergraduates from the Buffalo area for support during their time at Cornell. In the academic year 2020 the scholarship supported 6 students.

Due to the generous donation of Joan B. Alexander ILR ’72 and David H. Alexander JD ’72 we are pleased to announce the silent auction of a complete set of collectible Wedgewood plates and a 1987 Songs of Cornell songbook.

The set of 12 collectible Wedgewood plates each feature a different scene from Cornell’s campus in Mulberry red. Additional photos of the scenes may be found at Replacements.com. The scenes include: McGraw Tower, McGraw Hall, Myron Taylor Hall, Willard Straight Hall, Sage Chapel, the War Memorial, Sibley Dome, Goldwin Smith Hall, Balch Hall, The Crescent (Schoellkopf Field), Ezra Cornell Statue, and Baker Lab.

The starting bid is $500 for all 12 plates and songbook. Plates may be viewed in downtown Buffalo with prior arrangement. Purchaser must pick up in the Buffalo area (shipping will not be available).

To place your bid in the silent auction or to arrange to see the plates and songbook, simply email Catherine March ’14 at cam489@cornell.edu with your name and bid amount. The website and Facebook will be updated daily with the highest bid amount and active bidders will be notified via email.

The auction will run January 13 – January 20.
