SUMMARY:Silent Auction to benefit the Scholarship Fund
DESCRIPTION:The Cornell Club of Greater Buffalo is pleased to announce a silent auction to support the undergraduate scholarship. Established in 1975\, the scholarship is open to undergraduates from the Buffalo area for support during their time at Cornell. In the academic year 2020 the scholarship supported 6 students. \nDue to the generous donation of Joan B. Alexander ILR ’72 and David H. Alexander JD ’72 we are pleased to announce the silent auction of a complete set of collectible Wedgewood plates and a 1987 Songs of Cornell songbook. \nThe set of 12 collectible Wedgewood plates each feature a different scene from Cornell’s campus in Mulberry red. Additional photos of the scenes may be found at Replacements.com. Plates may be viewed in downtown Buffalo with prior arrangement. Purchaser must pick up in the Buffalo area (shipping will not be available). \n\n\n\n\n\nTo place your bid in the silent auction or to arrange to see the plates and songbook\, simply email Catherine March ’14 at cam489@cornell.edu with your name and bid amount. Which Simpsons character attended Cornell? And which famous alumna wrote ‘The Good Earth’? \nIf you know the answers to these questions… or want to learn more about our alma mater\, we’re calling all trivia aficionados and Cornelliana lovers! Come and test your knowledge of Cornell facts and lore in an interactive trivia event that will entertain and educate Cornellians of all ages. \nOur very own Club President-emeritus Matthew Nagowski ‘05 will be serving as quiz-master for the evening. Prizes\, graciously donated by your Cornell Club of Greater Buffalo\, will be awarded to winners. Our trivia battle will require a Zoom video connection and a web-connected smartphone in order to participate! \nWe encourage all interested contestants to dress in their best Cornellian red and white colors and gear for the occasion.
