Altschuler’s book, published in 2016 by the American bar Association and co-written with former Cornell law professor Faust Rossi, Ten Great American Trials, provides accounts of some of the most highly publicized  and fascinating  court cases of the twentieth century. The book also assesses the impact of cultural, social, and political values on the proceedings and the outcomes. The cases, several of which have been dubbed ‘the crime of the century’, were selected because they are dramatic, suspenseful, emotional, intellectually powerful, and have become part of American culture.

Glenn Altschuler is the Thomas and Dorothy Litwin Professor of American Studies at Cornell University. He received his PhD in American history from Cornell in 1976 and has been an administrator and teacher at Cornell since 1981. He is the author or coauthor of 11 books and more than one thousand essays and reviews. An animating force in the program in American studies at Cornell, Altschuler has won several awards for teaching and undergraduate advising. Email accounts, digital purchases, bank and brokerage accounts, social networking profiles and photo sharing are seamlessly integrated into our everyday lives.  But what happens to these things when we are no longer around? Deciding how to manage your digital legacy just may be the trickiest estate-planning task.  Digital assets, which can have both sentimental and monetary value, often go unaddressed in estate planning and yet, having your digital assets documented and organized is a vital part of estate planning.

Join us for an evening with Judge Howe as she discusses Digital Assets at Death and the importance of considering these assets as you plan for the future.
