Best wishes from the Cornell Club of Greater Buffalo

 Dear Cornellians,

Throughout 2021, we have continued to experience the vibrancy of our local community of Cornellians. This has been another upside-down year for the Cornell Club of Greater Buffalo — pivoting event planning between in person and virtual as COVID-19 continues to upend expectations. We hope you were able to connect to Cornellians despite the challenges, partaking in our second virtual annual meeting, Zinck’s Night trivia and games, thought-provoking discourse in our monthly book club, meeting with the next generation of Cornellians as a CAAAN volunteer, cheering on Cornell Men’s Basketball at Canisius, or supporting a local Cornellian-owned business.

We’ve tapped into the strength and connection of our Cornell community, and know that we couldn’t have accomplished all that we have without your involvement.

This year, Cornell University announced an expansive, five-year campaign: “to do the greatest good”, words that Ezra Cornell penned more than 150 years ago. This effort is a continuation of the commitment that Cornell is a place for “any person, any study” and will be for years to come. For the Cornell Club of Greater Buffalo, it reinforces our efforts to create an environment where alumni, family and students can connect and grow their ties to the community and the University.

For those interested in supporting the University’s campaign, we encourage you to make a scholarship donation to our Club’s endowment for student aid, Fund #218100. Last year, our fund supported over $32,000 in scholarships to local students.

As we look forward to 2022, we hope to see you at our events in the New Year, starting with Cornell Cares Day volunteering on January 8 to support Kevin Guest House. And as always, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our Club President, Catherine March ’14 if you would like to be more involved with our community of proud Cornellians. Our community is as strong as the bonds that exist between us. Let’s continue to do the greatest good for Cornell here in Buffalo.

Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2022.

– Your Cornell Club of Greater Buffalo
